Back to school mittens

So I have been updating my photos for the fingerless mittens. I adore the colours of this yarn and it is so soft for little fingers.  I know it is only just August but the shops seem to have been pushing the Back To School thing since before the children actually broke up here!  If you are thinking of getting hats, mittens, scarves etc please think about buying handmade, there are so many gorgeous and original items on Etsy, many now from the UK as well so you really can shop local!

I spotted this lovely image on a fellow crafters Facebook page.  The lady is an amazing crocheter, check out her work on Facebook, her blog at edenreborn.com and her shop on Etsy here.  I adore her foxes and bunnies!

Chunky Paws

When Mr T was tiny (and before I was really back into the knitting zone!) a friend sold me a lovely pair of thick chunky fingerless mittens for him.  He has worn them for years.  I was looking at my collection of chunky yarns left over from bunny hats and decided to have a go and knit a pair.  The pair I was inspired by was knitted in the flat but being less than keen on purling I had a go at a pair in the round.  Mr T was my "mannequin man" and decided he liked them but as he does have enough mittens I have listed them for sale on Etsy.  They fitted nicely and look a bit more boyish in the thicker yarn so I am planning to make up other colour sizes over the summer ready for autumn time.

Cheery Stripy Mittens

On my needles at the moment I have some mittens for a custom order.  I am really enjoying knitting them as they are a bit bigger than the ones I normally sell and as they are that bit bigger the colours and stripes on the yarn are coming out really well.  Mr T keeps eyeing up the blue and green striped ones and hinting (not very subtly) that he would quite like a pair like them!

Internet Problems

For the last three and a bit weeks we have been without internet and phone connection, hopefully it'll be fixed on Thursday.  I have been able to pop on occasionally thanks to my lovely neighbours sharing their wifi but that is why I have been a bit quiet.  Here are a few pics of the knitting I have managed to get on with though with less time to Facebook/pinterest/Ravelry etc!
