Daisies

Have spent the last few days designing a new daisy hat.  Am loving it as along with sunflowers, daisies are one of my favourite flowers.  The actual daisy took a fair few attempts to get it just right but the hat was first time lucky!  I just hope I can remember what I did so I can repeat it (yes I know I should have written it down as I went along!).

The daisy is adapted from this great pattern here and the hat is from my head!!

When there is no baby to model your pixie hat, try a small melon!!!

Have chosen a new design for the autumn, a cute pixie hat from this pattern.  It looked quite small when it was knitted up but due to the fact that its ribbed I knew it would stretch.  After looking about for a suitable head sized object to try it out on I found this melon!!

I am really pleased with it, can't wait to see a photo of it on an actual real baby instead of a piece of fruit!

Nautical Knot Baby Hat

I have been quite a busy bee recently trying to stock up the shop ready for autumn and here is one of the new designs.  I have done knot hats before but with a much thinner smaller knot but am loving this chunky one and the navy and linen colour scheme.  Now I'm trying to decide what other combinations to do, wondering about red and cream and a brighter blue and cream or linen?  Would welcome any suggestions as to colour combinations you think might look good!

Plenty of Pom Pom Hats

I seem to be knitting a lot of pom pom hats at the moment.  I am loving these great photos.  Mr T asked me why they had buried a baby in fluff, bless him, I had to explain that she was lying on a fluffy blanket.  Both these coulourways are on sale in the shop and I have a lovely lilac yarn ready to be made up into another.

Knitting Outside

Well anyone in the UK will know we are actually having a proper summer this year!  We have been enjoying picnics and outdoor meet ups before the schools break up and everywhere gets too busy.  Hope you are making the most of the sun.

Sunshine Bread

Since I found it I have been a keen follower of the blog A Girl Called Jack.  Her budget recipes are amazing, so far we have enjoyed the falafels, chilli, lemon and jam sponge puddings and today we made the Sunshine bread.

The recipe is here.  I don't think I weighed the flour out quite right as i had to add a lot more in to enable the children to knead it.  The resulting loaf is lovely, not too sweet but very moreish (in fact I made 2 so that both children could have a decent amount to knead so although this one is almost gone now we have another loaf waiting in the freezer)!
